WVMA CARES

Manufacturing Builds Communities

Manufacturing provides thousands of jobs to the state, offers great wages and benefits, and delivers quality products like automotive parts, chemicals, plastics, hardwood flooring & food products to West Virginia and the world. Manufacturers are innovators that invest in West Virginia.

Manufacturers are community partners who believe in contributing to their state, cities, and towns. From supporting local schools and sports teams, to providing thousands of volunteer hours around the state, manufacturers give back.

What is WVMA Cares?

WVMA Cares is a community support program created to further highlight the impact of manufacturing in West Virginia and builds on the foundation of community support provided by manufactures throughout the state.

The Goal

Our goal is to advocate for manufacturers who are not only vital to our state economically but are helping their communities by investing in local charities, sending product to those in need, and volunteering in their own backyards. Our manufacturers arenot simply job creators, they are community members, friends, and family. We want to shed light on the community work that often goes unnoticed.

How does it work?

Each manufacturer will have the opportunity to report their charitable work to the WVMA on a quarterly basis via an electronic form found HERE. The WVMA will use the collected data to promote the work of our members in West Virginia communities through multiple media platforms. While data will be reported in the aggregate, if appropriate, please include photos, press content, and your own social media posts so that we can recognize exemplary work by individual companies.

CATEGORIZING YOUR CHARITY

Volunteer Hours: non-compensated, activities that are organized in partnership with a non-profit organization and directly benefit the larger public or external community, beyond your company.

Charitable Donations: a gift of cash or property made to a nonprofit organization to help it accomplish its goals, for which the donor receives nothing.

In-kind Donations: Gifts in kind, also referred to as in-kind donations, is a kind of charitable giving in which, instead of giving money to buy needed goods and services, the goods and services themselves are given.

HELPFUL TO YOU!

The WVMA created three documents to assist in keeping track of hours and donations throughout each quarter. The documents are part of the WVMA CARES Toolkit and can be found below:
